Paxbird vs Fora: host agency or AI front desk?

Fora is a host agency and platform that gives travel advisors booking tools, training and a commission split. Paxbird is an AI front desk that answers travellers and drafts quotes for an agency you already run. Here is how they differ.

The short answer

  • Fora is a host agency plus a tech platform. Advisors join for $299 a year, book under Fora's IATA number, and keep 70% to 90% of commission depending on annual sales.
  • Paxbird is not a host agency. It is an AI front desk for the agency you already run: it answers travellers on WhatsApp, Instagram and Gmail, gathers requirements, gets prices from your DMCs and drafts quotes for your approval.
  • Fora's AI tools, Sidekick and Via, help the advisor research and draft. Its site does not describe AI that replies to travellers for you or requests quotes from DMCs.
  • Choose Fora if you are starting out and want a host, supplier access, training and a booking platform. Choose Paxbird if you already have an agency and the bottleneck is answering and quoting enquiries quickly.

Fora and Paxbird both sell modern tools to travel professionals, but they answer different questions. Fora answers "how do I run a travel business?" Paxbird answers "how do I reply to and quote every enquiry, fast?"

What each product is

Fora is a host agency and a technology platform. Advisors join, book under Fora's IATA number, and get its advisor portal: a booking platform covering more than 175,000 hotels, cruises and tours, an itinerary and proposal builder, bookable quote links, a CRM, invoicing and commission tracking. They also get training and a community. Fora says 97% of its advisors are new to the profession, though it also has tracks for experienced advisors and for agencies with $3 million or more in annual sales.

Paxbird is an AI front desk for travel agencies. It replies to travellers on WhatsApp, Instagram and Gmail within seconds and asks the questions you set for each trip type. It sorts every lead into hot, warm or browsing. Fixed packages are priced instantly from your rate sheets. For custom trips, Paxbird emails your DMCs, chases them and reads their PDF quotes. You approve two or three options with your markup, and the quote goes out on the same channel as a PDF and a link.

Where Fora is stronger

  • Starting from zero. A host agency, a booking platform, supplier access and training together lower the barrier to becoming an advisor. Paxbird gives you none of those.
  • Booking and getting paid. Fora handles booking, invoicing and commission tracking in one place.
  • Community and scale. More than 15,000 active advisors, a training library and $138.5 million raised give Fora resources few competitors match.
  • A low entry price. At $299 a year with a 14-day money-back guarantee, the up-front cost of trying Fora is small.

Where Paxbird is stronger

  • The first reply. Paxbird answers new enquiries in seconds, at any hour, on the channels travellers actually use. Fora's AI helps the advisor work faster, but the advisor still writes the replies.
  • Custom-trip pricing. If you build trips with DMCs and wait on their rates, Paxbird does that chasing and reading for you.
  • No change of host. Paxbird doesn't ask you to move your bookings, IATA arrangements or commission to anyone. It sits at the front of the agency you already run.
  • Chat-first agencies. Paxbird is built for agencies whose enquiries arrive on WhatsApp and Instagram, as many agencies in India and the Gulf receive them, and it works on your own number.

Which should you choose?

  • You want to become a travel advisor, or you need a host, supplier perks and training: Fora is the obvious place to look.
  • You already run an agency, and enquiries pile up in WhatsApp, Instagram and email faster than you can quote them: Paxbird is built for that.
  • You're a Fora advisor drowning in enquiries: the two do different jobs. Fora covers booking and hosting; a front desk covers replying and quoting.

What we couldn't confirm

Fora's own pages give different advisor counts: the join page says 10,000+ and the July 2026 announcement says 15,000+. We used the newer, dated figure. We found no Fora tool that replies to travellers for the advisor or requests supplier quotes, but Fora is shipping AI quickly, so check its platform page for updates.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Fora cost?

Fora membership is $299 a year or $99 a quarter. On top of that, Fora keeps part of your commission: advisors start on a 70/30 split, which moves to 80/20 at $300,000 and 90/10 at $2 million in annual bookings.

Does Fora have AI tools?

Yes. Sidekick is a GPT-4 chatbot inside Fora's advisor portal that answers advisors' questions from Fora's training and help content. Via, an AI assistant for research and proposal drafting, was in beta with top advisors as of July 2026.

Can Fora's AI reply to my clients on WhatsApp or Instagram?

Fora's website does not describe that. Its AI tools are for advisors, and Fora says the advisor stays the client's main point of contact.

Is Paxbird a host agency?

No. Paxbird does not hold an IATA number or process your bookings. It works at the front of your agency, where enquiries arrive, and leaves your host, suppliers and booking setup as they are.

How big is Fora?

Fora reported more than 15,000 active advisors and over $3 billion in bookings since 2021 when it raised a $60 million Series D at a $1 billion valuation in July 2026.
